20+ events to keep you & the family busy this week
Good Morning Chester County,
I was out of town last week, and as much as I enjoy seeing new places, I found myself missing home (+ my wife & dog π).
Having grown up local, it took until my mid-twenties to begin appreciating just how fortunate we are to live here.
Within 2.5 hours we can hit:
Mountains
Beaches
Big Cities
The big attractions outside of the county are great, sureβ¦but in ChesCo we have nationally award-winning restaurants, just about every attraction under the sun, thriving communities, and (maybe Iβm biased) the best neighbors.
Just reflecting and feeling grateful, yβall.
Back to itβ¦
This is what weβve got on tap:
Two adorable adoptable pets
A new word scramble and trivia challenge
Two charity 5k runs to get active & give back
& 35 other local events to check out this week!

The Blend
A curated mix of local stories, updates, and announcements from our team.
β₯οΈ Adoptable Pets of the Week
πΆ Meet Daisy
This Mississippi rescue with captivating two-toned eyes and a heart of gold is bound to be your new best friend. She might seem shy at first, but this treat-loving pup quickly transforms into a cuddle champion who lives for belly rubs and adventures alike.
Ready for energetic hikes and peaceful snuggles, this smart, crate-trained buddy gets along with older kids, other pets, and makes an excellent road trip companion.
π± Meet Vince Vaughn
No, sadly you can't adopt the actor...but this cat may be the next best option!
Don't let his tough guy appearance fool you, this 5-year-old former stray with the adorably round face is actually a total softie.
This mellow 12-pound fella loves pets, gets along with other cats, and welcomes strangers with ease.
After his time on the streets, Vince is more than ready to trade in his outdoor adventures for the luxurious life of a spoiled, well-fed couch potato in your loving home!
π§ Games & Trivia
If you read last weekβs issue - here are the answers to the word scramble & trivia:
Word Scramble - Stroud Preserve
Trivia - What Downingtown native starred in Top Gun Maverick? β Miles Teller

A closer look at the standout events happening this week
This week we are featuring two different upcoming charity runs supporting local non-profits!
First up is the Moore for the Troops John L. Coverly Sr. Memorial 5K Agent Orange Awareness Run πΊπΈ
When: Saturday, April 5th @ 10 AM
Where: Octorara High School
What to expect: Moore for the Troops is back for itβs 2nd annual 5k run, and this year, the focus for 2025 is Vietnam Veterans and bringing awareness to the impact of Agent Orange. The 5K is being held in memory of John Coverly who proudly served in the US Army, having voluntarily enlisted and requesting deployment to Vietnam. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Riddle Hospital Palliative Care Unit in John L. Coverly Sr.'s name.
This year's 5k course moves off the track onto school grounds, featuring small hills, grassy areas, and pavement (track option still available for the 1 mile fun run/walk).
Registration ends April 4th.

Next is the Second Annual Great Marsh Mud Mosey
When: Saturday, April 12th @ 10 AM
Where: 34 Moores Road, Elverson, PA 19520
What to expect: The Second Annual Great Marsh Mud Mosey is returning to Northern Chester County with a unique 5Kish adventure across private property. All proceeds benefit the Great Marsh Institute and ChesCo Search Dogs.
ChesCo Search Dogs is an all-volunteer team with over 20 K9s trained to locate missing persons throughout Eastern PA, New Jersey, and Northern Delaware. The Great Marsh Institute focuses on supporting scientific studies of Chester County's Great Marsh, the largest marsh in Southeastern Pennsylvania housing over 150 bird species and 160 plant species.
The relatively flat course takes you through marsh ponds, alongside wooded boundaries, past acres of farmland, and (you guessed it) through some gloriously muddy sections before finishing on grass. Check out the course flyover link for a preview! Limited to 150 participants, registration ends April 10th.
Stick around after crossing the finish line for food from Epicurean Garage, drinks from Stable 12 Brewing and The Botanery Barn, and a DJ. You'll also witness ChesCo Search Dogs demonstrations and can chat with environmental biologists about the property's special ecosystem.
Dress for mud - it's called the Mud Mosey for a reason! No pets allowed. Ready to get dirty for charity?
