Have you ever had the discussion with a group of friends about “which super power you’d choose?” I always pick teleportation (and I get to keep my clothes), but…

This week, I’m wishing mine was the ability to be in multiple places at once because we’ve got a damn good list of events going on.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so that means we’re all preparing for time with family.

Whether you’re practicing how you’ll pretend your in-law’s dish they brought is considered human-grade food or you’re looking forward to connecting with those you haven’t seen - next week will bring a full spectrum of emotions.

Our advice: Find something fun/new to do this week that gives you the energy you need for Thanksgiving.

🐶 Adoptable Pet of the Week - Tish

No pup should have to spend their days in the shelter. That goes doubly for our senior dogs. Tish’s story is one that, if you spend any time volunteering in a shelter, you sadly get used to hearing.

After her previous owner was no longer able to care for her, she was surrendered to the BVSPCA in West Chester.

One glance at this sweet lady’s photos and you can see a soft, loving kindness shining through.

This certified couch potato is child-friendly and looking for her forever home where she can spend her remaining days surrounded by a loving family.

**Tish is so loved that an admirer has sponsored her adoption fee.

This week’s featured event is A Longwood Christmas x Longwood Reimagined

When: Running from Friday 11/22/24 through Sunday 1/12/25

Where: Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348

What to expect: Mix equal parts resplendent design, breath-taking lighting, timeless elegance, and awe-inspiring nature and then maybe JUST MAYBE you’ll have an idea of what to expect when you picture A Longwood Christmas.

This year’s display is made even more enchanting with the opening of Longwood Reimagined. New gardens, new glasshouses, new landscapes, and new festive dining are all ready to be discovered, all with the splendor you’ve come to expect with Longwood’s Christmas event.

Flashback time, stick with me: I remember the first time going to Longwood for their holiday display. I was in the “nothing will impress me” stage of my teenage years 🥲 (parents, for those of you in the thick of it right now, let me apologize on your kid’s behalf).

Going through the first set of displays at the fountains I did my best to keep a straight face, but already I was impressed. As my group ventured through the grounds I was met with display after display of truly stunning sights - whether it was a dazzling light display or the beauty of nature captured in one of the greenhouses - I was hooked.

What started as a night filled with typical teenage angst ended with childlike wonder.

Longwood Christmas, and undoubtedly the new Longwood Reimagined experience, will warm even the coldest of hearts.

Get out there and experience it for yourself this year.

**Pro Tip: If you can delay gratification a bit, there are many more time slots available starting January 1st. If you absolutely must check it out now, be sure to book a ticket ASAP.
