🚫 30-Day Burn Ban in Effect County-Wide
At an emergency meeting that took place last week between county officials, the Chester County Commissioners have put in place a 30-day burn ban that went into effect on Sunday, October 27th.
Officials stated that, “Wildfire potential is currently very high throughout the county because of the drought, winds, dry fuels and fluctuating temperatures.” The ban is put in place with the hopes of reducing pressure on fire services throughout the county.
This ban includes “burning of of any combustible material outdoors in either a burn barrel (screened or unscreened), fire ring, fire pit, or on the ground. This includes the burning of garbage, leaves, grass, twigs, litter, paper, and vegetation from land which has been cleared.”
This ban is in effect until Monday, November 24, 2024. We’ll keep you updated if the burn ban persists or is lifted early, and you can find the official announcement here.
🐶 Adoptable Pet of the Week
This week brings you a two-for-one special, as we’d like to introduce you to this bonded pair of golden girls: Pearl (~9 y/o) & Shadow (6 y/o) (sort by age —> senior on the link and you’ll find them). These two lovely senior dogs are available for adoption at TLC Rescue. Need more motivation to give these two their forever homes? Think of all the paired costume ideas you could come up with for next Halloween. We’re thinking either Salt-n-Pepa or Thelma & Louise..but I’m sure you all can think of some better ones! (You go on our ChesCo Buzz Hall of Fame if you adopt these two senior gals and dress them up next year 😉).
📸 Photo of the Week - Life’s Patina Mercantile & Cafe in Chester Springs
Pictured: Flat white, Bacon Egg & Cheese, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Pumpkin Ricotta Toast (c’mon, it’s fall y’all)
It may not be a surprise if you look at the logo for the ChesCo Buzz…but we like coffee over here, so naturally, we’re all about visiting local cafes!
It was our first time visiting Life’s Patina Mercantile & Cafe @ the Jenny Lind House in Historic Yellow Springs…and it did not disappoint. Walking in to the cafe + shop you are greeted with a seamless blend of beauty from both old and new. From the beautiful decorations to the great drinks and amazing food - we will certainly be back. You can find more about them at their website or give them a follow on instagram.
We’re always looking to feature great shots from our subscribers.
This week we’re looking for your favorite Halloween decorations you saw while out trick-or-treating.
